AC WD no power when in gear

I've got a 1952 WD that was running great but developed a crack in the exhaust manifold and began losing power when in gear. I thought that if I replaced the cracked manifold it would take care of the problem but it hasn't. I've disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt the carburetor and it still does the same thing. It runs great on idle but as soon as I put it into gear it becomes very sluggish. Any ideas?

You might remove your sediment bowl. Often times the inlet will get plugged & not let enough gas come through. Just a thought, it's happened to me. Keith

It could also be a fuel starvation problem. When you cleaned your carb, did you make sure all the jets were open? Sometimes a jet can get plugged and it will not let the engine develop power over idle.

Yes, I've cleaned the sediment bowl/filter, checked the fuel tank, and made sure all carb jets are open. I seem to have a healthy flow of gas to the carb. Just to clarify, the tractor WILL pull itself, just not fast and it kinda wants to stall if I'm pushing any snow or otherwise putting it under a load. It is running good at idle and will lift a heavy load with the loader when not in gear.

check and gap your points...rubbing block wears down and moves timing.
if it aint points, you missed a dirty passage in carb.

Thanks guys, I was wondering if it could be the timing. I had a mechnanic repair the hydraulic pump a while back and he was the first to notice the crack in the manifold. When I got the tractor back from his shop he informed me that he had "adjusted the spark advance to run with the cracked manifold" and I've been wondering if that's the problem but everyone I've spoken to keeps focusing on the fuel supply. I'll try adjusting the spark and see if that takes care of it.
