OT:1971 f100 hub caps-what was stock?

Can any one give me a link, or post a picture of the correct hub caps that would have come on a 1971 Ford f100 ranger XLT. I would like to find a set for my dads truck for fathers day. When I was 16 I was, goofing off, with his truck when some pals and I borrowed it to go ice fishing. Pa was real mad and disappointed when it was noticed I had lost on of the hub caps. We were never able to find a replacement so now he has 3 of one kind and one of another. Doing some looking online, it seems the caps he had/has are from a 64-66 truck/car. Any help would be appreiciated, I found a cap similar to what he is missing, but would really prefer to find a set of what is supposed to be stock. That "71 has been his daily driver since new it"s pretty much a family heirloom for us, and a love of his.

there were several options, first was plain silver ''dog bowls'' but those shouldnt have been on a xlt, it could have had a style which looked like a mustang wheel from a distance, kind of a slim 5 spoke designe ill try to find a pic there were other options on hubcaps as well as all the full size car hubcaps would fit-providing it wasnt a 4x4

I've got a set of the small, dog-dish hub caps from a '71 F-100 "custom", but I don't think that is what you are looking for.

They are probably Chinese made, but LMC truck shows some hub caps in their pre-72 Ford truck catalog, page 68. (I believe)
Google them and look at their online catalog.
Does your truck have anything similar?

Here is a link, to an Ebay hub cap, that he has 3 of. Not sure if that is what he is supposed to have or not, I was planning on at least getting him a 4th match for the 3 he has, but also wouldlike to get him a set of 4 that are supposed to be on that truck if he so chooses to use. I will have to check, it is possible it may be an XLT Ranger Custom.

It is a 1971 Ford F100, Ranger XLT. Ranger XLT was a trim package, kinda like chevy had the cheyenne, silverado, bonanza-varities in their 70's 80's trucks.

Ranger was originally a trim/option package on the F series pickups. The actual Ranger model didn't appear until later,not sure but maybe early 80's.

Find him a set of the flat caps(not full covers)that are nearly flat on the face, have a black trim ring about 3/8th of an inch wide near the o.d. and say "FORD MOTOR COMANY" in a semi-circle just inside the ring. The face has a spun or "turned" look on the surface. Then get a set of 15 inch beauty rings to go with the caps. 69', 70's, 71's, and 72's looked good with this in their day...better than any of the goofy mag lookin' covers they had.

If you go under the hubcap link that CREM posted and look at the ones that are labled #FRDT55, I believe that they are the correct ones, I have had several of them trucks and almost all of em had that particular style on them, if interested i have a complete set of them, Just shoot me an email at [email protected] and let me know, as far as value make an offer. I took them off of the one that i am restoring, and eventually want to put mag wheels on it. Thanks BOB

dave while these are a '73, and a '74, the hubcaps on then would have been available in ;71 for pickups, there was 1 more typw on the f100 xlt ranger which i havent found yet but they are similer to the dark colored truck

Those arent even close to what came on the 67-72 ford trucks, they were not complete covers, they only covered the lugnuts and that about it, they were put on a white rim

this was what i was trying to find, these are the corect hubcaps, dad bought a brand new truck in early 71, i remember these on that truck it was a ranger xlt too, nice as it got in '71 not a custom cab which would have had the painted ''dog bowls''
