this is a produce stand near our place in P.A. We go there. get some really good apples. Take theapples out of the basket , put them in a bag, put your money in the tin can. They have great cider too.

Looks like a really nice down-home place. The tin can reminds me of an old swimming hole in the Ozarks. The farmer had a coffee can nailed to the corner post and a sign that said "Tresspassing, 50 cents"

The Pleasant Valley Country store in Chester county PA has a lot of fruit run by the Amish. We got blueberries from them last summer. Hal

Years ago in Cades Cove in the Smokey Mtns. an old fella sat quarts of honey out by the mailbox. Help yourself and put money in the box. Did it for years till someone took the honey and left a page out of a bible for payment. End of honor system.

I saw one last year in east Texas. Sign said only farm fresh produce sold here. Don't know where they got the pineapples and mangos.

Customers will steal the can or put a few pennies in the can.Didnt used to be a problem here.I keep less than 2 bucks in the can.Its impossible to work in the garden and watch the stand too.I wont sell vegetables this summer because of crooks.
