I have seen brown & grizzly bears as well as moose on our golf course. I have had a raven steal a golf ball off of a green before I could get to it. That is just part of living in the bush. Gerald

I received an e-mail a couple of months ago entitled WHAT IS A GOLF BALL WORTH?, showing a guy down on the golf course beside a pond. In the pond was a fair sized alligator with his arm in its mouth, It had torn the arm off at the shoulder socket. I don't know if the picture was real or not, but it gives me cold chills anyhow! I never thought of golf as a dangerous sport before. That grizzly would ruin your day too.

Remember the commercial where the bear is in a foursome, hits a tremendously shot out of the forest that bounces off a tree and ends up a couple feet from the cup. The 3 guys are chiding the bear about the "lucky shot", and bear says, "Hey, what can I say? I'm good in the woods."

I'm thinking that a photo-shop deal- If I was the guy with the camera, I sure wouldn't be taking a pic- I'd be heading for the cart, and praying its got a couple "Die-Hards" in it.

Texas golf course made the news a few years back- the pro shop got a firearms dealers license to sell the .410 snake charmer(?)-a bullpup styled single barrel shotgun based on H&R design- and some other guns needed on golf course. ATF came to inspect and agent got scared by rattlesnake close to first hole tee off area. Golf bags had extra compartment for snake medicine shotguns- Rossi 20 inch barrel model also popular. Local rules had some free extra stokes if golfer had to shoot snake during putting. Area had some kind of weather situation that led to bunch of rodents on golf course and neighboring areas, rattlesnakes were following rodents for lunch. Basic golf game idea is what? Escape from wives? Scottish excuse to carry war club to harras English? Anybody have a logical explanation? RN
