I need help with a white 270 diesel. When the engine is running it blows coolant out of the overflow line. There is no coolant in the engine oil, and it runs fine unlike if it was burning coolant. Ive ran it with the thermostat in, and with it out. Does this sound like a bad headgasket?

I'm not sure about other engines but this happened with my brother M670.When we re-bored the cyllinder jugs, it must have gone through the water jacket and pressurized the coolant system. If i remember right, we had to replace the gasket and put (high-tac)? on the gasket for a better seal. It seemed to fix the problem. It was a while ago so im trying to remember everything. Hope this helps. Toby.

Not that I have the answer just to clarify things is it the 2-70 or 4-270? There's a big difference the 2-70 uses the White/??? 283ci and the 4-270 ran a turbocharged V-8 kitty cat.

Just sounds like the head gasket between the cylinder and the water jacket to me. As opposed to being blown all the way to an oil port.

When you pull the head make sure you check the liner projection. It is very important on the Cat engines. Also if the 3306, is new enough make sure the spacer plate is good. Projection is .003-5 above the plate/block.
