In Mississippi we have a law that demands a balanced budget every year. I think this would be good for the country. Find a way to end our current wars.Start paying off the national debt by
cutting the Federal departments by at least 5% a year and applying the savings to the debt.Cutting regulation on small business. Simplifying the federal income tax....

Congress can never live within a budget. Just print more$$$$$$$$$$!

Probably could not happen in are life time. Last time there was a surplus of $$ was back in 1948 give or take a year. But yes if congress and the others all started to pay into the S.S. system for there retirement and also dropped there pay down to a real level say that of maybe the top Military people gets then $$ could/would be saved and S.S. would be out of trouble etc etc but it will never happen

Everyone should take notice of big problems we have had in the past such as the saving and loan debacle and the mortgage crisis.No one said a word before these things got out of control and I feel the same thing is happening with the debt situation , everything is great until it isn't.When the interest on our debt hits one trillion dollars a year, who is going to by the trillion dollars in bonds which are only secured by more debt?
