Will be looking for a used 4-wheeler this spring. I know this is like a Chevy or Ford question but what have you found to work? Will need something to haul firewood, haul a fishing pole and pull a canoe. Some nice ponds in the area would be nice to drive to them. Was thinking in the 500 engine range with 4 wheel drive. Thank you for the input. Have a great day!!! Let it snow.

I've got a chinese model (Jainshe) that is pretty much a Yamaha from a couple years earlier. It's a 250cc 2wd with shaft drive. I pull a harrow on the pasture, have a trailer that I can load 30 bales of hay on or a decent pile of firewood and it pulls it fine. I weigh 250 pounds and can throw 2 bales of hay on back and one on frt for quick feeding trips. Can pile on plenty of junk along with the dog and zoom right along. Plenty of power, but 4x4 would be nice every now and then. I think with 4x4, you should go to a 400cc.

My $.02.

You can buy a new Jainsche for about what you'd pay for a used Yamaha..

polaris sportsman 500 H/O 4x4 ,I have one use it all the time very dependable, starts right up even when its 15 below 0 like this morning.no shifting.

check e-bay for a used Kawasaki Diesel mule. I have one. Would hate to have to farm without it. 1100lb payload in the box. 5 gal fuel lasts for 20 hours. outworks 3 atvs, goes anywhere, hauls anything. Even pulled my friends 400 rancher from the mud.

I have a Polaris Ranger that I wouldn't trade for anything. 1500lb load capacity. 2000 lb towing capacity. 700cc fuel injected. Rides smooth. Class 3 hitch. Starts at -30.

Don't know about the newer ones cause they changed models about the time I bought mine but I have a 04 Honda Forman 450M 4X4. Bought it new about the first of 05. Use it every day to check cows. I have a trailer made from the back half of a old Datson puckup that the four wheeler will pull loaded with over 1,000 tobacco sticks, or enough wire and post to put a single strand of barb wire around a 40 acre corn field. It has (I think) about 3,000 miles on it and I have changed tires (bought new takes offs at an auction) oil, and one fuse. Been a tough son of a gun and if a tree fell on it today, I'd buy another just like it before the end of the week.
