IHC D-179 motor???

Hey folks,
is/was this motor used on any models in the States?
I am told that the oilfilter block will fit my smaller tractor and let me use a spinon filter. Can't find the part here.

94 Clevite catalog shows as IH 3cyl, 3.875x5.063.
That catalog shows in:
240A, 240AHS tractors;
454, 464 and 484 tractor, as rctn said;
That catalog doesn't show any 485, and shows IH 495 as Payscaper, Paywagon with D817.
Also shows D179 in 3400 Series A tractor and 4500 forklift.
 
The most comon use was the 485 as the other two post have stated. Should have junk blocks/engine with oil filter mounts but my question before I get involved is what engine you now have that
you think this filter base might fit. That engine is pretty much in a family of it,s own in the ih world does share some parts but I can,t think of anything using that filter base.Jerry e-mail open

It's a DD-111, also a 3 cyl diesel. It's not that big of a deal, but I'd change the oil more often with a spinon filter :roll: . There's someone over here that makes a conversion set for the motor I have that is REAL expensive. Someone on a forum here said that the D-179 filter block will fit. True or false? I don't know.

Like mentioned, find a base on a junker..should be lots of german diesels in your part of the world!
