Ive replaced a block heater three times in the last few months ( Farmall 560D )...dealer covered all three but i'm beginning to wonder if there is a bad lot of them out there ...

All three were installed as per directions, oriented right, .....and water was checked and petcock drained for a few seconds to insure it was in water when first plugged in.....all three worked first time plugging in...second time they fizzled for a little then an hour later it wasnt working.....on the last one I used a multimeter to check ohms and it read 24 -- 25 ...before installing...now they are dead.

Anybody else experiencing these problems??

unless you are getting a air pocket thats the only thing I can think of that would cook one. unless like you said bad from the factory

In the truck world. I always heard that if you ran the engine with the block heater plugged in, the air bubbles created in the water would cause t he heater to pre-maturly burn out.
