The new wisc. subaru robin (what ever its now called) do they still make them and are they any good? Can you get parts service? Don't really care who bought what company, they used to be ok.

I bought a woodsplitter with a Robin Subaru engine on it ,So far its been great, starts easy and has power, The web site said they were the 2nd largest engine making company ??

They've always been highly rated engines, and tend to have better durability ratings than Honda equivalents. Not exactly "new" though.

We've got some smaller ones that have seemed to be good. Our last leaf vac (Billy Goat brand) actually had a big twin cylinder made by them. Hadn't seen one of those yet. Seems to run smooth and decent on fuel.

Wisconsin used to be the distributor of Robin engines in N. America but quite a few years ago Robin/Subaru decided to market them themselfs. Robin only makes industrial engines and only sells them through shops that repair them. They are the number one small engine in Japan ahead of Honda. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. They are top of the line engines as well as generators and water pumps. They make the JD inverter generators. I saw a Robin on a new pressure washer that had electronic fuel injection. Dave

I had a 9 hp twin in my EZ-Go golf cart. It was a fine little engine, economical, quiet and very smooth. My Polaris Ranger TM has an 18 hp twin. I really like the machine. This Robin/Subaru engine has plenty of power and seems to run better as it gets broken in.
