Went out to feed the cats just before daybreak yesterday and wife's '07 Hyundai Elantra was on fire. Had been parked all weekend. Weather was mild and thick fog, so something must have arced,,,pretty well toasted the engine compartment...waiting on adjuster to come out and write it off. Life is never boring!!

ford has some problems with cars catching fire while sitting. We took our 1998 windstar in to get a ne harness put on it under recall

By all means check some Hyundai forums for similar fires, and check the Center For Auto safety website.
If nothing found, post an inquiry on the largest Hyundai forum (if more than one) and see if any similar fires show up.
Edmonds (??) site or the CAS site may have any recalls issued; you'll want to look for TSB's as well.
Good luck.

I have a 2006 Elantra hope it doesn't do that in the garage. I know Ford had a problem with their vehicles doing this. Hal

would a guy like you who lives off the government titt buy a foreign made car?????? Well toro, don't you support unions?

That could be a good thing. I have and old weatherboard house, suppose it's to late to borrow it.Better than setting fire to a petrol soaked rat.
