aint it nice out side

We have about three inches of snow since this afternoon and still snowing. Not much wind so far innorth central ND.

Here in eastern Nebraska, it's been in the low 30's, cloudy and foggy for over a week. I can't even remember what the sun looks like. And they're forecasting more of the same with maybe a little rain for the next week.

I've lived all but ten of my 75 years in this area and I've never seen a mess like this. The gravel road past my place might as well be just mud with no gravel.

A highschool classmate of mine buried her fourth husband this afternoon, and the hearse got stuck in the mud in the cemetary. They had to carry the casket almost from the road.

We have wet, slick ice on top of the snow. When you walk on it you don't know which way your feet are gonna go when they go out from under you. Spent a lot of yesterday chopping ice away from doors so I could get into the buildings. Did a little damage to a couple of them trying to pry them up. For some odd reason my arms and shoulders aren't sore today. Go figure!

Last year I found some supposedly environmentally friendly Al Gore type ice melt at Wally world. It works great but I used it up on the sidewalk. If I can find some more of it I'm gonna give it a try under the steel machine shed doors. Don't want to rust the doors with salt. Jim
