Toyota is recalling another 2.3 million vehicles for potential sudden unintended acceleration defects. This is in addition to the previous 1.7 million recalled. This involves the accelerator pedal itself. Nothing to do with the carpets getting stuck under the pedal. Eventually, we may find out what is really causing it. Like malfunctioning electronics????Hmmm?
 
Oh come on now, Those 8aps make perfect cars with no defects, it must be that US made carpeting causing it.
 
Wellll! We have a new Toyota Camry to replace our 06 and haven"t seen a recall yet but expecting it. I just bought a new Harley Davidison Ultra to replace my 02 Ultra it has an electronic throttle with ABS brakes both could be kinda lethal but as an old air force pilot I flew with told me "We"ve lost this and that and we may be in for an interesting ride" I wouldn"t want my family to go through that but it does get the adrenalin flowing for awhile.
 
Plaintifs lawyers are causing this. It has little or nothing to do with engineering.

I think that turned out to be the case a decade or so back, but we didn't have fly-by-wire throttles then , either. IMO, too early to know on this go 'round.

NO we certainly don't need those nasty "plaintiffs lawyers." It's pretty obvious that without them, the big corporations would NEVER cover up a potentially deadly problem here and there.

How do you know it has "nothing to do with engineering?"
