Insurance while on the road..??

I have had no luck finding anyone who will insure my tractors or equipment while on the highway..
No problem, while stored..but with the way most city people drive anymore, I want them (and me) covered...!!
Anyone have a favorite Ins Co they would recommend..?

check with your local Farm Bureau...i believe my farm liabilty policy had a clause about moving machinery from field to field...not sure about these tractor drives folks put on.

I'm good for 1 mill liability, fuel spill and manure spill on road. Was including in my farm insurance automatically.

When I checked on actual "Coverage" while on the highway...Nothing was covered...

I am only on the road from one field to the next..

Some of the things these cell-phone Mutants do is down-right amazing..!!
That includes Stone trucks anymore, too..they all seem to need one in their ear to drive..
I will check this more..Thanks for the replies..!!

Ron, my agent told me that my equipment was covered until it is loaded on a trailer. The coverage on the equipment stops, and the farm liability stops at that moment. The towing vehicle liability takes over, but still no coverage for the loaded equipment. This includes my zero turn mower - no insurance if loaded on a trailer - lots of folks don't know that. If it's moving down the road on it's own power, the equipment coverage and farm liability is good.

My son hauls his tractor often, and he has a policy on his tractor that appears to be like you would have on your car or truck. It's covered in any situation. It's a little pricey.

I'm sorry - I have no favorite insurance company. . .

might price comercial freight coverage, not going to be cheap but may be the only way to cover anything valuable that is being transported

I'd make sure you have that in writing. Farm Bureau has a habit of talking good coverage until you need it.

If all you want is a card for "proof" of coverage FB is the way to go, but if you want real coverage and claim service you might be better off looking elsewhere.

i dunno about your states FB but here in Texas the only problem i had was they got too proud of their services and i changed providers...family had FB coverage for over 40 years and they never failed to pay a claim including a house fire and my sisters driving.

12 kids and my parents all had FB at one time in the late 1980s, now only one person left - they haven't had to file a claim yet.
