560 with cracked block

I just purchased a 560 gasser and found out it was putting antifreeze in the oil.We tore it down and the #2 sleeve was cracked and appears that the block behind the liner is also cracked letting coolant come in contact with the sleeve. What would happen if we just put in a new sleeve w/o fixing the block? does it matter if coolant comes in contact with the sleeve? This tractor will not be under a load. Thanks!

Karl-----560's seem to have that problem a lot.
I have had a couple like that. If the block crack isn't bad use JB weld quick set, let it cure and then insert the sleeve. It has worked for me.

The best way to fix it would be to have a machine shop put in a repair sleeve. If it was mine I would put in the repair sleeve & bore it to std & run the piston in the block.By the time that is wore out maybe the rest of the tractor is too.If not, it can still be bored to accept a sleeve.
