I'm getting those scam letters for things i've advertised, but now there asking to pay with paypal.I assume this is a scam also, but don't know how it works.thanks.

Go to the real paypal website, log in to your account, and ask the question. If you can copy/paste a couple of the messages you have, even better.

I open NO email about paypal or ebay. Anything that would be in email will or would be in the ebay or paypal site.

I feel safe opening most anything in Yahoo or maybe with gmail, If you open it then hit reply it'll usually have some junk address like Paypal(at) aol.com, which you know would be some spam.
you can forward these emails to [email protected]

They make a website that looks exactly like PayPal's login page, and provide a link to it in the email. If you click on the link and enter your userid/password they have it and can send themselves money from your account.

As others said, if you need to go to PayPal, go there yourself, never through an email link. And always double check the address line at the top of your browser before entering the userid/password.

The easiest way to manage your accounts is to get a Password Safe
http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/, you can keep the links to the login pages there and copy/paste your userid and password. Keep a backup of the password safe file on a thumbdrive, as long as you have a good password for the safe nobody can get the other passwords.

I have received several emails from paypal saying that I need to
put money into my account. I have no account with paypal. This scam has been ongoing for quite awhile. When you check the email address it is not from paypal.

As long as all they want to do is to pay you by PayPal you are pretty safe. The only piece of info you should give them is your PayPal email address.

That being said, get the money out of your PayPal account as soon as you can. If they contest the deal, PayPal can't get to money that isn't in your PayPal account.

and never follow a link in an email

I have been a paypal member for 6 years + and if I get e-mail that looks like it is from, paypal I will turn right around and go to my e-mail page and send a e-mail to [email protected] and I will tell you if it is a spoof they will tell you with in a real short time:: I would also want to say to you please do not OPEN and RESPOND to it till paypal tells you what is.

I have always told my friends if in dought check it out, before you lose out.
Here is the phone number for paypal if you need it; 1-402-935=2057 and ask for agent; They will be more than happy to help you out.
Have a good one: and be carful,

The only time, so far as I know, that Paypal will email you something, is in reference to a specific sale/ transfer that you have going on, and will be VERY easy to identify. Also, if it's sent to the wrong email address--then it ain't from Paypal.

I just got one sent to my Yahoo account. Well, guess what? That "ain't" the address I used to register with. All my transactions---of any financial nature--are done through my primary service provider address.

Other than that, "gee", it LOOKED pretty real!!!
