Deere 1010 crawler tire machine

Has a mess this morning in my shop. Rear tire on a Ferguson blew and seems it was 100% filled with a saltwater mix. I took it off and dragged it outside to work on. I usually use my bucket on my big backhoe for tire work since it has no teeth. But too much ice and snow to move my hoe. So, I tried it with my little Deere 1010 crawler. Worked better then expected to break the tire loose.

yep...my 350b is about the best bead buster i own...got a piece of 3x6x20 channel iron with a 1/2" bolt welded to one end that i bolt wheel down to...then run dozer up on channel and drop blade on tire...works every time.

Better hose down the inside of the shop. I had a loaded 18.4 38 blow out in the tool shed this spring. Blew chloride all over everything. When I pulled the corn picker out last fall, the gathering chains on one side were rusted up stiff as a board.

jdemaris,
Give that man a cigar. I thought I was the only lazy person to bust beads that way. I hope the calcium spilled on some ice you had to get rid of.

My personal favorite method is to start up my row crop UTU and drive the front wheel on the tire. I can then 'drive around' the sidewall till something pops. If that fails, the bucket on the TL14 loader will either pop the bead, or smash the rim. Last month I had a fifty year old 32 inch tire that was permanently stuck to the rim. After my loader bucket failed, we threw it under the track of a 450 Deere. The rim collapsed and the sidewall ripped. I now have a beautiful fire ring to toast hot dogs and marshmallows around.
Even when things go wrong, something good comes of it.

Now if I can come up with a less messy way to skin lawyers.................

Happy motoring.
Charlie

I use my 350B with a 4 in 1 bucket, just put the tire ( rubber only ) in the clamshell and squeeze. So far it has worked everytime.
