Term limits

got to thinking (Thats dangerous) what would happen, and it wont, but if it would EVERY elected office has to be elected by a bigger majority every time they run for an office 1st time simple majority 2nd time a 60 % majority Etc would not this be a way to have term limits a senator or congress man would only be able to last so long wouldnt be a life time job also no retirement benefits or health care outside of standard medicare

Congress should have limited terms just like the President.
They also should not have the power to vote their own raises as they at the same time, limit or eliminate any increases for those on Social Security. Or, they should be forced to vote their raise in line with what they do with others.
They should be forced to participate in the national healthcare bill if they pass it. They should not have a better healthcare plan than what they vote for.

Limit all ploitical offices to ONE term
If a person wants to be a career politician, they can start as a city council person, move up to mayor, then state rep, state senator, federal rep, federal senator then president then out the door. Never let them stay in any office long enought to do major damage

If your for term limits think about this. Those guys have voted themselves an automatic cost of living raise,a very lucrative health insurance benefit and a pension that they can get after serving, I think only one term, If all those thieves left office after two terms the cost of government would double expotentialy after 2 terms

What everybody fails to realize is that we are the government.If the people want to throw a politician out after a day or week or month we can do it.How they get in there is there are always places that like their crook and wont vote for term limits.We should make them pass a law that says if more than 50% of the other states dont like a politician from a state(usually California,Texas,or New York)the other states can vote to throw them out.The other states dont elect them,but they can throw them out if they are just a crook.If that was the case most of them would be gone.Also we can take that pay from them and that pension and everything.We even could throw them in prison.We just have to get involved in it and demand things get done.If things dont get done get rid of whoever is causing the problem.Sort of a pre revolution house cleaning.
If a few million people showed up every day in Washington DC and demand they fix this,they will fix it.Every time the people stand up the crooks back down.

Government doesn't listen to us anymore. They, in their infinite wisdom, know what's best for us lowly serfs. Oh you say, We'll just vote them out. Then, if they choose, they will just become lobbyists. Ol Cris Dodd's not done, He'll probably get a cabinet position, or some other 'GoldenParachute' will come his way. You march in the streets, And they'll just call you "Astroturf", or "Just a bunch of redneck racists". Unless you are an illegal alien, Then they say you are marching for your god given rights.
Term limits, Wishfull thinking, They hold all the cards now.

The trouble with term limits(We have them in Missouri) is the staff winds up running everything, by the time a good guy gets the moves figured out, He is limited out. The problem is people voting for their welfare check and not for the good of the people. Less taxes always means more jobs, it is a historical fact.

Trouble is,everything in politics is decided on emotion anymore,not fact. And the fact checkers in this country are in the pockets of one party.
