Re: Tow truck insanity!

And a drunk driver will drive right into a parked police car with lights flashing all over the place.... Fear of all cops on every traffic stop.

I drive a plow truck for a township..I'm amazed at how many people actually speed up to see what the lights are all about..They want to see a gory accident or something of sort...They drive right up under the salt spreader behind me and get real excited when the back-up lights come on..I get honked at daily.....Haven't got any car frontends yet.... But the season is still young.....Drive Safely

I have no problem with a tow truck at a accident scene with all kinds of flashing lights. I understand the danger of working on the side of a interstate highway. But I have a major problem with a rollback driving down the road at 70 miles per hour with a compact car on back with 50 strobe lights flashing blinding every one. If you were towing a vehicle that would be differant. DH

I have been almost run over by a fire truck numerous times. It is not because I am stupid. It is because I am tone deaf. I can't hear bells, telephone rings, birds, whistles or sirens. I hear the engine of the fire truck before I hear the sirens. I am also partly blind. Some people aren't born privilege

I use to be a patrolman, and you can not guess
how many times I have Taged by cars at an accedent
they will not slow down, because
1. They do not see you
2. They are paying attintion to the road
3. They are on the cell phone
4. The most Important reason is;They do not want
to be slowed down for no reason.
5. I am in a hurry get out of my way
6. They dont care.
This why I am no longer a patrolman I got by a car
and both knees are no good. Now I have steel knees
that work 1/2 the time: What a way to go.
But I can still walk and that is it.
Well enough said got ta go: talk at you later:

Mabey you can't hear... but a lot of people are just plain ignorant.
I've had people driving ahead of me while hauling water who would drive just fast enough to not get hit, thus setting the pace. Around here at least, they are REQUIRED by law to pull over, stop and make way for any emergency vehicle. Virtually none do.

Idiots crash into parked vehicles at scenes because they are gawking and not paying attention. With all the cell phone talking and texting going on, working out on our highways is more dangerous than it was before. They say a driver texting is about the same as a drunk on the road. The "move over-slow down" campaign has helped but there are still those ignorant ones who just don't care about driving regulations and think the world revolves around them.

Change lanes or slow down is now a law in Missouri, but I don't need a law to tell me what is safe. Ever since I have been driving, though, if I saw a vehicle of any description on the side of the road, I would either change lanes or slow down. I just assumed that it was normal accepted driving behavior. No telling who might step out from around that vehicle. I tell my children, when they're in the truck with me,"I've never killed anybody and I don't intend to start now."

Some years back, i was Captain in Charge of our Fire Police Unit. Out on the Interstate, it was scary!! Dumb drivers were a scourge on the roads. every moving driver was looking around to see what happened! Very few, if any, were seeing the road in front of them, too busy gawking around. After i almost got run over by a driver who seemed to be half asleep, i decided that job was not for me, so i resigned.
Also, we had a large gas leak in a housing plan, so we had to keep dumb ladies from driving thru the area, because of maybe a spark setting off a big explosion. Men would stop-dumb ladies wouldn't---"Oh, i must get to my house--my 2 year old triplets are all alone there!" or: "I left my garage door open to run to the store" not.
I saw it go up when she wouldn't obey my orders! One time, on a road block, i had cars stopped on a local street. I had my back to the cars. Suddenly a horn blasted not a foot behind me! I turned around and there was "white-hair" trying to get me to open the lane--her dogs were alone in the house and she had to get back to feed them! Stupid is as Stupid does. I resigned after those episodes. I just listen, and find out what happened when i see one of the members of the Fire Police Unit.

(quoted from post at 23:43:17 01/10/10) I guess spelling and grammer wasn't a big priority? Dave
ot only not a priority, but, 135Fan ought to know that it is O/T (off-topic), i.e., not relevant to the thread.
