O/T Hay is considered drugs

Im 18 my buddies and i were recently riding around in my car when we passed a cop he turned around and followed us for a lil while then pulled me over my liscenes plate light was out, so as i was waiting another cop showed up and had a drug dog he walked around the car three times and nothing happened on the fourth time around the dog jumped up on my trunk and barked so i had to get out and empty my pockets well when i did some loose hay chaff came out they instantly thought weed i told them what it was and they didnt believe me so they searched the whole car and my buddies but never made my girlfriend get out they then found a small piece of hay in my back seat and they swore it was drugs but they wouldnt do anything because it wasnt enough to pack a pipe. what a joke, they ended up letting me go with just a warning to fix the light but its so discouraging that since he saw a group of young kids he thought he could find something, sorry to ramble just needed to vent

Nothing against you, but I suppose the next thing everyone will start screaming about is "age profiling". It is interesting that since about the age of 28 or so, I have been stopped 3 times in the nearly 20 years that have passed. When I was in my teens, 3 stops in one week was about the norm. I know I drive a little better but .....

ya i understand that but if you knew the cops in this town one was just involved in a hit and run he crashed his car in a house and ran another one was caught with a women in the back seat and another was drunk and two other cops let him drive home and they followed him and he didnt get in any trouble, its just funny how they are above the law but young farm boys are thought to be druggies

I put a baggie of catnip on my dash, one of the local hitler youth cops thought he had a great bust till his partner smelled it, I had a good laugh with the chief, but the young cop still doesnt like me much!!!

They will look for any tiny thing to give them cause to pull a car over. They know that the law of averages is such, that if they pull over 50 vehicles for the slightest excuse, they might find one or two with drugs or DWI.

Criminal no longer scare me, cops do.

Met some buddies for beers at lunch on New Year's Eve. The server's boyfriend came in, they both discussed his job as a cop. He drank 2 to 1 to our beers, was not on duty, but had a 20 mile drive home. Mind you, we always stop at 3 -4 so as to not be DUI.
He proceeded to tell us that most of the guys he works with drink, very normal for them to have "several" and then go on duty.
Why do I have an issue with someone stopping me to see if I have been doing the same thing that they have been doing, but they think it is fine for them as they feel they are "above" the law?
It is that rogue attitude that causes many issues surrounding law enforcement.
A separate but serious issue is speeding. I know cops get driver's training, and their cars are higher performance, but a speeding vehicle is dangerous. If speed kills, then it kills.
My point is that I see them all the time driving 10 plus over the posted speed, but they are not in chase, no lights or siren.
I have been behind them and watched them pull in for lunch, stop at the bank, going to the hardware store, etc.
It is somewhat like the fox guarding the henhouse.

Sorry you went through that.
I had a little Honda and for years, I drove the thing without a front bumper...never got pulled over. (I"m an old fart) My daughter"s boyfriend was doing some suspension work on his very cool VW Bug and took the bumper off temporarirly. Got a ticket the very first day.
Small town cops think they"re Wyatt Earp when it comes to kids.

My son was on his way to work with 2 guys who ride with him. Useless cop with an attitude stopped him, thinking 3 guys on I96 might be suspicious. He had a grunt call hanging from his rear view mirror. Stupid city pig didn't know what it was. Accused him of having drug paraphernalia. Had some trouble getting the SOB to back down and let them get on to work.

We all have a horror story. I know there are many cops that enjoy being seen as lord and master however there are many good cops, policemen, & state troopers who are doing a thankless job.
The truth is in this area the HS is full of drugs. Many people in the 35-55 age group are also users but, drugs is the biggest problem in the 17-30 year old group. It is such a waste of lives and money.
I also realize all of our kids are innocent as we were.

you don't have anything to worry about , they save that stuff on their report every day . so now you are in their files and that you do drugs . ain't it great . that's your local police at work.

That sounds to me like a very good harassment charge and maybe a good lawsuit. since they followed you around for awhile before pulling you over they broke the law and then accused you of having drugs with no proof od what you had if they put that on their report go for them. Its time these cops learned this is not the 50s where they were the law ans to "H" with anyone else.
Don't sit back and do nothing as this can go on your record and follow you around for years.

PS go get a copy of the police report if they refuse remind them of the law and the fact that you are talking to an Attorney.

Back in the late '70s when the nationwide speed limit dropped to 55 MPH, I got passed by a deputy sheriff (there were two in the car, the one in the passenger seat was asleep) going (I clocked him) over 90 in a 55. I was really irritated and got his liense number and called the state police.

They investigated...a female sergeant called me at 2:30 AM...the message, don't @#!* with us...

Makes you loose reapect for the good ones.

it's like getting accused of a crime , then getting found not guilty . you don't think your still not on their records do you . oh, your there all right as been arrested for that crime . these people don't think like we do . all that stuff will and can be held against you.

Not knowing type of cop stopped you. I will tell anyone the same advice. Check out and demand to get a copy of every document that ties you to that law enforcement stop. If unfounded then all records should be expunged. Again not knowing the intensidy of incident but you should act accordingly. Probable cause for search, this cop who don't know hay from pot should have this on his record. Go to Internal Affairs or police whith higher authority. Trust me on this one! This officer will do it again & again if no one complains on him.

You had to pay taxes if you sold any of that hay and that is how they treat you, but if you were cought on a battle field shooting at American troops they couldn't pour a little water on your head to help you remember stuff. Got to love your country but it's sad what we have digressed too.

It is harassment. I have seen cops speeding and then see a bunch of them stopped at the donut shop. It's not a cliche. When I used to clear snow, I stopped at a 24 hour donut shop at about 1am. I stayed there for over 45 minutes because I had to wait to go to a job at the newspaper production plant. The cops were there before I was and didn't look to be leaving anytime soon. Dave

You were very fortunate that the cop and his buddies didn't plant some 'evidence' and haul you off to jail.

Once the cops' buddies arrived, the odds of you surviving the encounter went to practically zero.

The 'blue brotherhood' protects its own, unlike the military, their oath to uphold the Constitution is meaningless, and unlike the military, law 'enforcement' has a problem policing itself.

Police are trained to perjure themselves, and ALL law 'enforcement' catagorize ALL civilians as impedents to their quest for unlimited power.

Law 'enforcement' IS NOT your friend.

local feed salesman had some hay samples in his truck laying on front seat.
city boy cop followed him home(about 10 miles) nailed him from DUI dumbo tried to get him for wacky weed too.
salesman said do you think i'm so dumb to leave wacky weed lay on front seat where anyone can see it then spend a couple of hours in a bar?
