O/T- Olds wiperblades

My daughters 99 Olds Cutlass wiperblades come on by themselves. won't shut off unless you remove the fuse. Is the control on the steering column bad, or does it have a circuit board in the wiper motor causing trouble? Thanks...
 
I would suspect it"s the circuit board under the hood. My "98 Chevy pkup does the same thing. I"ve replace that board once and am ready to do it again. You can turn the wipers on, then off. Sometimes they will stop and sometimes they will run for 5 minutes before they stop. Sometimes the washers work and sometimes they don"t. When the wipers do stop, you never know just where they are going to stop. Larry
 
I had a 93 Suburban and a 97 GMC P.U. and both had the same ailment as yours does. In 2001 I mentioned it at the local GM dealership. They told me to bring them in as there was a GM recall for both of them and they replaced the circuir boards in both of them for free. You might want to check on this.
 
After 10 years the most you could expect would be a laugh.With tongue in cheek ask for a refund due to substandard equipment.
 
Ya don't really know what you are saying. I keep getting a recall to change different parts on my 95 Ford F-350.
 
There is a limit switch in the motor for designated "parking" of wipers. This will stop wipers. If this switch is faulty or does not actuate, wipers will continue another cycle or more. Sometimes loose ground caused by rusting metal or screws can do this. Wiper arms bent or installed incorrectly can also stop parking limit from doing its job. There is a ground strap make sure its clean and tight. Circuit board probably can cause this also. Take your pick. Last 3 circuit boards I bought came from china and lasted month or so. No warranty on electric parts in my area. Good luck
 
I'm well aware of what I say, it depends in which country one lives .
Do you get recalls if it is not a safety issue.???
