Well,

This little project is either gonna work or it's not, I guess.

Label on the epoxy said it would be completely cured in 24 hours. However, I'm gonna give 'er a couple of more days to be darned sure before I tension it up.

Thought some of you guys might like to see how a Nebraska retard does woodwork. Only had to resolder one wire too. :>)

We'll find out about Saturday morning. I gotta do a dance and would sure like to use this white guy.

Hey! I finally got that snow blower all pulled down to parade rest. Darned thing fought me all the way, so think I'm gonna put in both bearings on that right auger while I'm in there.

Well, that and because snow is accumlating as we speak. :>)

Glad you got that blower to see things your way.

I'm waiting here for that 1066 to warm up under electrical power so I can grind a load of cattle feed before that storm gets over here.

I still have summer blend in it and got a magnetic heater on the fuel tank and the block tank heater plugged in as well.

Usually get a break in the cold cold for a day or 2 to get the grinding done. Not this time.

What kind of amp do you run? I was in the music business for 20 years and worked on a lot of Fender tube amps. I don't play guitar (keyboard guy) but know a little something about tubes and amps. I had one customer who was an Ampeg nut - he was a bass player in a popular local band. Hard to find a fan big enough to cool that amp that was also quiet enough for the stage. Anyway, that was several years ago.

It looks good to me but then I've never worked on the solid body guitars, so what do I know? Anyhow you've got a couple of days to test it out so it doesn't have an emergency on stage.

I've got a BIG, HUGE problem in that area and it's really beginning to rear its ugly head since I’ve lately started going to these jam sessions around the area. Been using a Pro 185 and it really sux. :>(

I just plain don't like amps; just cannot get the "tone" I want.

I normally use a Studio Tube processor and split it out thru two PA systems into stereo where it’s mixed out wet and dry. Down side is, that's all well and good, but it sure as heck spoils ya for anything else and I can’t lug that big system around.

I think I need a good Twin Reverb and maybe some stomp boxes? :>(

Hey Allan,I play a Telecaster through a Music Man 212 Tube Amplifier. Its 70's vintage that Leo Fender built after he Split with Fender.Great sound and it has a low power switch on it also. You can cut the wattage output in half with the switch if you want. The Telecaster and the Amp are a great combination for that "Buck Owens" type sound that i like to play.

Slide by a reseller and try out a Fender G-DEC 15 for a small solid state amp it makes some really good sound. you can dial in the presets or make your own.
Not a stage amp but great for pratice (Maybe you don't have to pratice, but I sure do :))

Very curious on how that holds. Could be a good fix.
The Fender Twin sure is a nice amp. Back when I was working for a few years on guitar(I"m bass by trade, but go where the dough is) loved everything about my twin except the weight at the end of the night. Yanked half the power tubes and used the low setting - they tend to be a very very loud amp.
Good friend runs the old Music Man 130 - very nice amp as well. A little drier than the twin but also tighter.
Depending on the type of music you may like one of the newer 30 to 50 watt class A amps. Supposedly very responsive and real portable. Same friend was a/b ing a small Mesa Boogie combo with the Music Man. Like apples and oranges. The boogie had great versatility and plenty of power but could never duplicate the Music Man tone
These days I stick to the bass - not that the equipment is any lighter...

Come on guys this is a Allen In NE project. Has he ever let us down? This will be playing like new when he is done. As always keep us posted how this turns out.

Allan, I"m curious about the small thin pickup by the bridge? Is that supposed to be a piezo or something of the like? I love those sensor pickups they sound great, can"t beat them for a good clean tone!

Hi Steve,

Boy! I'm with ya on the sensors. I've used them for so many years that I can't use anything else. Those old single coils kinda have that "edgy" tone to 'em.

That thin pickup is actually 6 individual pickups that drive my synth. Don't use it a whole lot, as it is like harmony; a little taste sure goes a long way.

But, I will use the sax, piano, organ and the strings on occassion.

If this thing hangs together as I hope, I'll run off a tune so you can hear the synthesizer working.

Here's one that I use the synth on thru-out. Like I say, don't use it much. People see you standing there with a guitar and they just don't believe your making all those instruments sounds and it's coming out of the guitar.

Overheard one guy say that I was using Karaoke. Wow! did that ever pizz me off! Never played that joint again. :>)

Anyhoo, here's what the B3 organ, accordian, vibes, trombone and horn section sounds like thru that "thin" pickup:
