tractor dealership trip in E. Indiana

Sometime we are going to go on a round trip just to visit some lots around Indianapolis and up through Muncie, and back through Kokomo. I really want to go to Swindell's, but don't know of any others to go to. Doesn't have to be new dealerships, but any used yards is fine. Have any ideas on where to go? Obviously old Oliver or White dealers would be ones I'd like to visit! Thanks

Check with SLO on tractor tales. He is in eastern In. and works at a JD dealership. I might have his e-addy if you need.

No Place?

Racing capital of the world and Home of The Great American Race, the Indy 500, the Grand National Drag Racing Championships, The Brickyard 400, the best record in the NFL Colts, the 2012 SuperBowl. Largest city not on a navigable waterway, population over 2 million and still growing, and we host the National FFA convention every year.

Heckofva comment coming from the land of cheese and 4 hour sunlight days. What's your largest city? Milwaukee? lol lol Please.

Tell Laverne and Shirley we said hello.

LOL, host the National FFA convention since they left Kansas City after 75 years, then 7 years in Loiusville and then to Indy. Whose time is almost up and then onto another midwest city.

adding to Indiana Red's post limestone capitol of the world, aircraft parts engines and transmissions for military troop training center, hardwood timber, homeplace of Jon Wooden 3 astronauts anyway there is a lot here we likeit Brian Love Martinsville Indiana proud hoosier

OK, I substitute Headquarters of the NCAA, numerous past and future NCAA Final Four Championships, and I forgot the Formula One Grand Prix Race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

I just thought the FFA was a nice touch. But I doubt they'll be leaving as we are currently tripling the size of our convention center.

Were you really gonna stand up for the Wisconsin kook that was trying to slam Indy?

Actually the FFA Convention will be a 2 year rotation between Indianapolis and Louisville for the foreseeable future. Both cities want to host really the event really bad, so they decided to "share the wealth."

Hi guys, thanks for the plug on FFA. Here is the scoop on their convention.
The National FFA Organization announced Dec. 12 that its annual convention will rotate between Louisville, Ky., and Indianapolis, Ind., for the foreseeable future.

Starting in 2013, Louisville will share hosting duties with Indianapolis on a three-year rotational basis. Louisville will host the convention 2013 through 2015. The convention will return to Indianapolis for the years 2016 through 2018. Louisville will then be given the first right of option for the years 2019-2021; Indianapolis will have the option for 2022-2024.

By the way, I think the fellow from Wisconsin might have been talking about the fact that Wilkinson, for (external_link) in kind of out in the country on the beaten track. I don't think he was running down Indy.

Other item to check out:
McCordsville,IN - Don (Gary) Kingen farm - largest round barn in state of Indiana, close off of I-70 east of Indy. Used to have a very large MM collection. Most sold off when Don passed away a few years ago.

Ja, but I bet they don't serve lutefisk and lefsa at the Lutheran church. Every sunday yet, too! Ja.

If you get up toward South Bend you'll want to look at the Oliver Mansion and Studebaker museum. Little to nothing Oliver there but some history. You could also make the pilgrimage to what's left of the Oliver plant (Power house with Oliver smoke stack there may be 1 or 2 other buildings around there but I'm not sure which ones they've torn most of them down and are knocking down the Studebaker blds left and right too) on Chapin street.

If you want to browse old stuff (junk) go to Hines. Just south/east of South Bend on Roosevelt road, Mishawaka, IN (take US331 south of US20 to Kelly road to the 1st road on right and follow road around corner). BUT they are only "open" on Sunday and Monday til dark.
