OT/full moon again.

Somebody said the other day that there was no full moon this coming February. The calender says there's one the 28th. What got me to post this was that I was reading the Book of Useless Information yesterday and it said that the only time in recorded history that there was a calender month with no full moon was February 1865.

Not trying to start an arguement, just that there's a WHOLE BUNCH of interesting useless stuff like that in that book.

Dunno, seems like if a full moon comes around every 28 days, you'd just about have to have one in a 28 day month- either the first or the 28th (or of course, somewhere in between).

That's what I've always thought, but seems it's nearer 29 days. I Googled "actual frequency of full moon". Can't quite follow the mathmatic stuff that I came up with, but on the calender, this years February full moon is on the 28th and the March full moon is the 29th.

I doubt if the coyotes can tell the difference. I'll be accompanying the Pomeranian out in the yard for her evening absolutions, regardless. Lost one already, not going to lose another. Sure cold out there, this time of year. Especially in my bathrobe. Damn coyotes.

It get even stranger. I hadn't paid any attention to when the January full moon is. Last one was December 31st right? So January should be the 28th? It's the 30th. I found one site that showed a graph of the frequencies for a 5 year period. Ranged from 29.3 to 29.6 days. Live five and a half decades and learn something new everyday.

I did but I live in Australia, just heard there are actually two in January also, none Feb and two March.A real feast.
