Hi guys-any one useing these new solar air heaters? They claim to heat the air from the sun as the air goes though it.Thanks

Passive solar heat collectors have been around for decades, nothing new about this one. Price seems kind of high for the amount of heat it would collect.

A neighbor has a passive solar collector on his roof. He likes it and would install more if he could get them at the right price. His uses water to transfer the heat.

I'm holding out for a real good one that will heat water,at least enough so my furnace only runs at night.

I'm keeping an eye out for them too. Might install a few if the price comes down enough.

There are hundreds of sites with DIY plans for passive air and water systems. Of course there are active systems that use very little energy.

Google is your friend here.

Have had one I designed and built myself on the back room of my house for 3 winters now. In full winter sun I'll have 110F air blowing out of the 6" outlet duct. The site below has tons of advice on these and many other solar technologies--while you can certainly buy commercial units, many of the ones I've seen are not as well designed and built as what you can do yourself for a tiny fraction of the cost.
