OT I need a new camera

Last Thursday in the COLD I dropped my Fujifilm A360 4.1 megapixel camera on the cement and now it doesn't work anymore. I have a Polaroid i1035 that the kids gave me a year ago that I hate and do not use. I really like the Fujifilm, took good pictures even of running equipment. Looking at a Fuji 12.2 mega pixel for just under $100. Any recommendations for a GOOD camera in that price range? It's gotta be pretty simple for me to use it, point, shoot, download. If it gets much more complicated than that, forget it. Thanks, Chris

I like the Fuji cameras; my a303 listed for better than $300 when new; bought an identical (used) one for 20 bucks........shipping included.....last year off e-bay, just for a back-up. There's one just like yours on e-bay now with a starting bid of $10.

For me, the deciding feature on ANY camera is the way the controls and menus work. Example. I got an REALLY good buy on a NIB Nikon L3, 50 bucks brand new. Had been a promotion. Now it takes great pictures for what it is, but

"what were they thinking"?

Almost impossible to carry this thing in your pocket, because "just a touch" on the power button makes it try to turn on.

I have a Kodak digital camera that was given to me about 18 months ago. I"ve probably not taken more than 70 pictures with it. Now it is completely dead and won"t do anything even after trying several new batteries. Kodak tech help (from Pakistan) keeps telling me to replace the battery, OR send it back with $100 PLUS return shipping costs to fix it. (I"d be surprised if it cost Kodak $25 to manufacture it) If that isn"t good enough they would give me 20% off my next purchase. Why would I want to pay for another POS with a crappy warranty?

Chris, for what's it worth, I always research any new camera purchase. I usually use steves digicam reviews .....google them. Good all around reviews.

I've had good luck with SamSung. Simple, easy to use, strong flash, and not overly expensive. I have two identical ones I carry on the job doing insurance inspections. One I use and the other as a backup. It would be the pits to be 50 miles from home doing an inspection and have camera problems.

Our company software won't accept resolution over 480X640, so it really doesn't pay for me to have anything real hi-tech.

I've always liked my Kodak M863 8.2MP Camera. I use it for all my youtube videos now. Real easy to use. I really like that it has a lithium ion battery for charging. Lasts a Long time too. My Mom has one that takes AA batteries and it eats them up in an hour or less. Good luck on finding the right camera for you.

My wife has a Pentax Opyio e60. 10.1 megapixels ans 3x zoom. I love it. Easy to use, carry and uses SD card. People on the west coast have them on e-bay for a buy it now price of less than 90 bucks (plus shipping).
I'd pay a bit more and buy it local so I can touch what I'm buying. No shipping, no damaged goods, no hassles.
