Did We See This Snow Cat ???

Awesome video. Not a snowmobile, but definitely a snowmachine. I'd love to see a schematic of how they made it work. Looks kind of fun, too.

This one is in a museum in SoCal.

They are still being made. They work well in swamps and tundra, too.

Very environmentally friendly.
Some are built with flat tops for freigting.
This one has two drive systems.
Both the tracks and screws are
hydraulically driven.

I have a set of tracks like the ones in the picture of the furguson I would kinda like to sell. They are pretty good shape, needs a couple new bars though because I think they were laying in the dirt at the previous owners.

Did these Fergusons have special brakes? It looks like all steering would be by braking. I'd think they wouldn't last long, unless outfitted with something special, maybe brakes on the front and bogey wheels too.

The steering wheel was removed and levers operated the brakes instead of brake pedals. The Fergie's were reported to be extremely reliable without any big problems. Dave
