Has anybody operated a TAFE?

I'm going nuts waiting for the dealership to get this TAFE 35DI ready for me. Has anybody run one? What I'd like to know are the good and bad points about the tractor, and the things to watch for on a pre-sale inspection.

Thanks,

TAFE has had a long licensing agreement with Massey Ferguson. The TAFE 35DI is basically the same as as a Massey Ferguson 135, 230. The TAFE 45 is closer to a MF 245. The best thing going for it, is that it is a licensed copy of one of the best tractor power trains ever made. I've seen one but don't know how the quality compares to the originals. I think TAFE may even be making some of the new MF branded tractors that are made in India. I don't know if parts interchange on the 35DI with MF parts. That could be a problem if they don't. Check with a MF dealer. Dave

I saw an article in an British tractor mag that showed the TAFE factory making MF tractors for export, and TAFE tractors for Indian use.

I have twenty hours in on the Tafe now. Love it. It has all the charm of a Massey Ferguson 35, only with extra gears, power steering, an adjustable seat and reliable shifter. It starts very well in cold weather. The 3 Way diverter valve for the loader and rear remote took some learning, but most of the time I just use the loader for snow removal and carry the blower around for ballast.
