We usually grill and drink a little at the house then go out frt and light off fireworks with the neighbors. Someone got stupid a couple years ago and set a barn on fire so things chilled out a little. Plan tonight is to take a bus into town, have chinese buffet, then head to the only C&W bar in the area and bring in the New Year, then take a train home (stage a vehicle at the train station a couple miles from the house). When I got here 20 years ago, was at the C&W bar 6 nights a week when I wasn't in the field. FF and it's like an old hippy's convention for the folks that are still around.

Going to a party in Ann Arbor, featuring a blues band. Toast in the new year, sleep in tommorrow.

Were going SQUARE DANCING see what yall have to look forward to when you get old lol...One day last winter in Florida at our adult RV retirement park I PLAYED CARDS, SHUFFLEBOARD AND BINGO ALL IN THE SAME DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now thats really really old lol

A couple years ago in Texas (first year we retired) we were at a square dance and were the YOUNGEST COUPLE THERE, we were setting down resting when a couple well into their eighties who had danced every tip came up to us and said "You KIDS just arent in shape yet are you" And they were right too, we couldnt keep up with those a good 20 years our seniors who had been retired much longer...

God Bless all and Happy New Year

Ol John T and all

Fix 3 gallon of chili. Have family and friends over to play cards. Let the grandkids play games and roam till they pass out. Toast in the new year at midnight. (One of my co-workers and his wife are from India. I hope he can survive this Missouri Hillbilly experience.)

Going out to eat at the local country club with friends of ours. Then see where the evening leads from there.

One New Years Eve I won't forget was on Taiwan when I was in the Marine Corps. The officers and Staff NCO's of our unit were invited to a New Years Eve party at a Nationalist Chinese Air Force Officer's Club. The Chinese celebrate New Years with fireworks, and there were so many fireworks going off inside the club that they had to stop the dance a couple of times to sweep the debris from fireworks off the dance floor.

At one point, I went a block or two down the street to reload on fireworks and from a block away it sounded like a full scale firefight was going on in the club.

GEE! I hope that you remember what happened after you wake-up in the morning.

OH! I'm going to watch the new year at 9:00 then go to bed at 11:00 as always. HEY! I'm old and stuck in my ways.

Guess we're just getting old. None of it appeals to us anymore. Haven't gone out since the new millenium. Plan to just watch the ten o'clock news and hopefully fall asleap before it's over.

Buying a few pounds of fresh giant shrimp for boiling and eating with sauce made from fresh mangos, bananas and habanero peppers from our pepper garden. Of course it will take a few cold ones to cool down with! Then watching all of the fireworks and parachute flares going off in town from our porch two miles away. Quiet and relaxing and should be in mid 70"s to low 80"s.

(quoted from post at 09:36:42 12/31/09) should be in mid 70"s to low 80"s.

Not likin' you too much right now Mister

Enjoy...... Plan B for us if we didn't get reservations at the resteraunt, was a bag of burgers and going to the high pot outside town to watch fireworks. Foggy/rainy though so wouldn't see muh.

Don't really know yet , may dig out a couple of Porter house steaks and do them on the grill with baked tater and salad , may be a glass of wine or maybe just and old beer . Then later on snack on some munches and tonight four fingers of C/R on the rocks ( my four fingers spread wide ) in other words a water glass filled . Need more STRESS MANAGEMENT and that should do the trick as the three two finger glasses last night sure helped get in a good nights sleep .

I try not to go out on amateur night. Drinks and food at the house with my family. It's cheaper, better food, No DUI

Well I have a couple of options, first one is a stretch lemo, with driver and full stocked bar taking us to the finest lobster dinner in Kansas City, then to the Big concert and dance at the power and light district, followed by some bar hopping at the plaza, then off to the Savoy for breakfast, then a little sack time at the Ritz Carlton, with lots of wild activity, or the second option, babysit my grandson and watch the Three Stoodges marathon, just can not make up my mind! HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR....Animal

We host the party every year! Last year had a house full (and garage) at 35 people, this year we invited 40! Yeah, I know...

Got a room in Ft. Wayne, IN. Spent the afternoon watching wife shop. Gonna walk across the parking lot about 10:00 eat supper at a really great restaurant, walk back and fall asleep. Ain't no way you could get me to drive around anywhere on amatuer night.

The wife and I are gonna take it easy and stay in this year. We'll cook a couple of steaks, watch some movies and call it good. May have the neighbors over for some card playing. Nothing too exciting. You all have a safe and Happy New Year.

Stay at home with family as I have done for all my life.Theres no
party animal in me. I'll be in bed long before midnite.
