Another ??? for the Texans.

There is kind of an ongoing documentary about a german family that moved to Gainesville a few years ago and ended up with a place on Moss Lake where they run a vacation resort. Anyone met this guy or know what I'm talking about?
Started out as being kind of neat but he comes off pretty arrogant the last couple of years.
Can imagine it'd get on some of you folks' nerves if you were in a business and have this guy show up with a camera crew in tow....
Don't know the guy other than what I see on TV, might be a real nice guy.

I know very little about Texas or Germans. I've never lived in Texas. The only German I know is my brother-in-law's wife. She emigrated to the US when she was about 16 or 17 years old. She's an absolute angel.

I did, however, read something a few years ago that said that there is a large contingent of German immigrants (and their descendents) living in Texas. It seems that Galveston was the second most popular point of entry into the US a few years ago. Many German immigrants couldn't get entry through Ellis Island, so they entered through Galveston. I think that a lot of cities in Texas have German names.

But, like I say, I don't know much about Texas.

Vito, I think dave2 was referring to the fact that the Germans have less tolerance to people who want things handed to them or to be more precise a lot of Americans in recent years want to be stupid or non thinking and we are supposed to build things that keep them from hurting ourselves like we need warning labels on hot coffe cups to keep from burning ourselves or how arrogant can we be when I've seen people running down the highway with a 5-6000# SUV at 75mph texting thinking we're multi tasking (NOT!)I'm part German but I don't need to be because that is plain stupid! It would be interesting to know how many Germans drive down the Autobahn texting. Sorry Vito, just ranting. CT

I'm talking about 1 specific person........ As far as textng (or talking on a cell phone) etc. Get caught here and it's a bunch of money, second time, license for a couple weeks, 3+ take a bus....

This guy may not be so bad with folks where he lives, but he comes off on German TV like a real a$$.
