About five pages back I posted about the gas sediment bowl hole plugging on the 630. Well, Armand was right, it was pieces of float that was giving me a fit. I had replaced the fuel gauge sensor back when Deere still carried them ( how many years was that?) but I had to get a gauge and sensor package with a gauge that did not look stock. The sensor has an adjustable length arm and the set screw simply came loose and let the float end of the arm go. The float is a kind of foam type stuff instead of cork, and it's been banging around in the tank enough to break off a few chunks.

The good side of this is the sensor and gauge still work, I thought the gauge had given up the ghost cause it wasn't registering anymore but I guess it won't register if there's no float on the end of the arm. That really made my day cause working gauges are as scarce as hen's teeth. Jim

Oh yes, the bowl does have a little riser that sticks up in the tank, but it's not very tall and it has a couple of slits in the side.
