OT-1998 Chevy Truck Heater Controls

I have a 1998 Chevy truck that I am having heater control issues. It has the traditional dial controls to set the air outlet location. I assume these are still vacuum controls like on the older models? Anyway, When I switch from defrost to floor air there would be a delay, followed by a clunck noise, then air would come out. Now, air will only come out in the defrost location. It appears like the door is stuck or not being actuated? Any one have any experiance with this?
Thanks

The control is electronic. It drives 3 servomotors that control air damper positions.

The one for "MODE" is more or less above or a little to the left of your accelerator pedal foot pinky toe.

Either the servo has failed (common), debris has fallen into the air door, jamming it, or the linkage has come undone. GOOD LUCK under there, you're gonna need it

Great....I remember getting up under there is wire in my brake controller. It was kinda tramatic..I dont bend and flex like when I was 18.
Thanks for the info.

I have the same body style truck, and had the same problem. It was the actual heater controls. Was like 80 bucks and 15 minutes to disassemble the dash, remove/replace the old and reassemble the dash.

What Bob said,

Check that little servo motor just to the right of the accel pedal. They had a bad history, especially with moisture issues.
