just butchered my Highland bull, 1000 lbs live. Dressed out 540 lbs. 2 & 1/2 yrs old. Little rascal was everywhere but home. Couldn't fence'm in; might as well try fencing in an ape. Jumped over, crawled under, crashed thru. On the road all the time. Neighbor runs 1 bull & 55 cows, so there's always dozen unbred cows callin'm every day. What's a poor bull to do? Neighbor screaming about polluting that herd with inferior Highland genes. He buys only the cheapest mongrol stock & brings it in. Way I look at things the lil bull was doin'm a favor; any calf sells for more than no calf. But to keep the peace in the neighborhood, save on fencing & worrying about cars hitting it, I dropped'm with .223 last Sun. New Holland with 7314 loader made it an easy job. Took hide to taxidermist to make into a rug.
