JD 4010 3pt Stuck in up position

The 3 pt is stuck in up position. It rained and turned very cold here and the rain froze.. Went to lift blade up and it went up but can"t move lever to lower blade it is stuck.. Bent the little rod that is attached to 3pt lever and I have that straightened back out but still can"t get 3 pt to lower.. Did something break??

Cable is frozen............with rust or ice.

Been there, done that. Yup cable is frozen, probably rust. About $93 at Deere when I did my 4020 a few years ago.

The cable where it attaches to the lever pin will sometimes get so rusted up that you will think the cable itself is the problem.Remove the cable from the lever pin and see if you can move the cable then.

Yep, same here. Replace the cable with a new one or it will happen again.

Chud, I agree with the others that your cable is probably frozen, either with ice or with rust. One good thing to do is whenever you drive your tractor make it a practice to cycle the rockshaft lever a few times so it will be less likely to stick. It will last a lot longer that way. Mike

If compact utility loosen rate of drop screw a little bit.
