Have been pricing and looking for a new pickup. Seens about $18100 is a low as I can price a bottom of the line F-150. IS this about right. Lists for about $ 22,655.
The problem is with the body of these pickups. I have an old Dodge 250 and I can load stuff over the side of the truck and can reach almost to the center of the body.. On the new Fords I can,t even touch the bottom of the bed. Who designed these bodys with the high sides, not someone who has the load bushels of sweetcorn over the sides. The bed at the tailgate is about 8 inches higher than my old Dodge also. I would think a lower body would make much more sense. I have talked to 2 other people who have purchased new Fords who wish they had their old lower pickup back.. I also don,t think my 88 year old mother could even step up high enough to get into the cab. What do you think, am I just old and cranky or what?

neighbor of mine bought a new GMC last year...had same problem...his gooseneck was hitting sides of bed during turns too...he wound up getting rear ended and stuck a flat bed on instead of regular bed.
i dunno whose "better idea" it was or why.

6,000 mi on mine have owned ford f 150 new ever other year for 25 + years and there is more improvment over this 2 year change than most.
Love it then again I don,t load muc h over the side.

I like the way my 05 F150 drives. but I don't like the high bed. It is very difficult to reach tings in the bed. I don't know what the engineers were thinking. I noticed they have installed a step in the tailgate, on the newer models. I paid 17,000 for mine, so the price you found may be about right. Keep shopping you may find something better. Stan

Thats because they are golf club haulers! I have a F250 company truck same thing they are not built for the workin man. We should take the engineers along for a day and show them how a truck should be built!jim

A stripper edition is beyond my idea of enjoying life when for just a few more bucks ride in confort. Dodge, Ford, and Chev all the same for high boxes. Keep my rides usually ten or more years and not new when bought. After three sticks in a row I finally figured it out and got an automatic with air.

See ads here in Mich. for 14,900 for 150pickups. But do you believe the advertising? One time I wanted a stripped ford ranger and nobody would sell me one for the advertised price. They would even expect me to believe they could not order it. Dealers and lawyers, don't trust any.
