I asked about the difference between Wildblue and DSL the other day, Thanks for all the replys. I called Frontier ( our phone co) this afternoon and signed up for the DSL. They are coming Saturday afternoon to hook me up. Bye, Bye, Wildblue. Chris

Welcome to the 21 century.. My parent are still on dial up. I think someday it will just be part of your phone service. Ask how much to go to 12meg

i got a good friend in Latham,IL that has Frontier DSL...he's offline more than on...sorry to rain on your parade.

I've got Frontier, They just sent me another offer
for $20 bucks a month. Whenever there's an
electrical storm it goes down not a big problem,
it's always up the next day

I work for a rural coop about an hour and a half south of you. We have good luck with our set up. As far as wildblue it's a better than nothing option but you're far better off with a wired connection to your house. We can get DSL (up to 3 Meg) to any place in our exchanges. I've been to houses UPS and Fed ex couldn't find because they're way too far out in the boonies. My company does business with Frontier but I'm not involved with that section so I can't tell you how good it is but I'd bet it's better than satellite. Especially if there's no set limits for how much you can use it.
