Trucking question?

Hot Shot, at least in our line of work - household goods mover - is a one piece delivery, ie an amoire, etc.

Hotshot is considered small loads......typically 15,000 or less that have to move NOW....shotly thereafter. I do quite a bit of it with either my Kenworth straight truck or 1 ton dually and gooseneck. I typically work about a 250 mile radius. Interesting work. Way lower cost structure than my years with a tractor trailer.

Hotshot trucking can be any size load. I know of many tractor trailers hauling hotshot loads and some are even over sized needing a permit to haul them.

A hotshot load is considered a should have been there yesterday load. Oil field uses them a lot.

There are trucking companies that specilize in this type of service. Acme truck lines is one of them.

Thanks, heard it, but never knew the reference. Now I can sound sooo much smarter!!!!

Hotshot has pretty much become a generic term for the one ton duallies and the 6 wheel MDT's you see hauling trailers. Friend of mine parked his Freightshaker and just runs his dodge 3500 now says he is much further ahead at the end of the month.
