Any Deutz Fans Here?

I have liked the Deutz air-cooled Diesel for several years now; thought I'd run across one some day and take it on. Any fans here with experience?
Thanks!

I've got a D4006 that is a great tractor. I'd buy another one if I could find one that wasn't junk with a $7000 price tag. The thing just keeps running and sips fuel. 2 years ago I planted 100 acres of corn on 23 gallons of fuel, I thought that was pretty good considering the D17IV used twice that.

I grew up driving a 6006 Deutz in 1975. I went on to work for a large farming company that owned a dealership. I've been to Deutz schools and worked on many and had many employees work on them for me in the 27 years I've been in management. All of our Deutz tractors at the farm are gone now. They would last us about 15,000 hrs before they became unrealiable for our type operators. We still use Deutz powerunits to pump water. We must have 30 out there. The engines are good for about 40,000 hrs before we retire them. Great engines.

Same as John, I have a 4006 my Dad bought in '73. It's been used for a tractor, bulldozer, and everything else it was needed for and just keeps on going. As was mentioned, it just sips fuel and it's air cooled so no coolant or radiators to deal with! A fine tractor indeed.

I wonder if there used to be a Deutz dealer around this area. I see a few of them on different properties. My neighbor brought his over one time with a log splitter. Ran all day for a couple days and hardly used any fuel.
I am in Rappahannock county Virginia.

Deutz-Allis 6265, use it for hay cutting and baling, always starts in the winter to move bales, can't ask more than that.

I have a D6006 that is a 1968 I think that I dont use and would like to get rid of. email me if you are interested.
