hauling rate for tractor

Depends on the hauler.I would venture $1.50-1.75 per mile.Best is to get it on a backhaul or with another piece of equipment to keep costs lower.

Depends on how big and if its an expedited run or a back haul. Its been a long time since I've seen anything under 2.00 per loaded mile on long hauls or 70.00 an hour on shorter ones.

Just in the last 60 days the bottom has fallen out of flat bed freight. Just shipped a unit today going to Pa. 950 mi tirp, 8,000lb unit
about 14 ft long other wise half load or so got it moved for $800.00 or less than a buck a mile.
Lots depends on how big a hurry you are in and where you are going. When we move machinery with one of our trucks $ 75.00 per hour or $ 2.25 per
loaded mile , but right now can hire it hauled cheaper than I can run our trucks. Several web sites where you can post your load and get replies quick. Goggle truck rates...

Just had a 3020 moved 512 miles for $410. That's .80/mile, I got a break because it was over 500 miles and a back load.

I'll fill in the other end of the spectrum, I guess - 40 miles, $200. The guys I didn't use were $100 an hour from when they left their shop until they got back to their shop. Given the roads around here, that would have been more, or at least the same. There was also some inflation from the price quoted to the price charged on the guy I did use, so I won't be seeking him out again in a hurry.

thanks guys. i was asking about the rate cause i saw where a guy needed a tractor moved that was close to me. i told him a price and he told me that he could get a semi and lowboy that would cost more than i wanted to move it and he had to drive farther than i did. i asked what did that matter cause it would be the same loaded distance and he was higher. he then started telling me how much fuel would cost me and then telling me how much that would be by the hour and all this crap so i told him to get the other guy. seemed like he wanted the semi guy anyways and now he keeps emailing me telling me all kind of crap. was trying to help him out but he is talking trash about it so i wont be moving anything for him
