Hello I remember Nancy asking the best way to remove old smoke from a pick up but i can not remember or can not find the best way. thanks s.t.

The way we used to do it in a dealership was to take a cup half full of unused coffee grounds, put several apple slices on top of the coffee grounds, sit the cup on the trans hump in front of the front seat, and park the vehicle in the hot sun for a couple of days. Might be short on the hot sun this time of year.

I bought a small, battery powered ozone generator on Ebay that was supposed to go in a refrigerator. Cost less that $10.

Ran it overnight and during the day when the truck was parked for about 2 weeks. It removed about 95% of the smell. Don"t run it for extended periods. The ozone is very hard on any vinyl in the interior.

Just get some good shampoo, and shampoo inside from top to bottom. Takes lots of hard work and elbow grease, but it will get the smoke smell out. Dealers call this type of cleaning, "Full Detail"
I bought a Plymouth mini van in Aug 2009, which was owned by heavy smoker. I shampoed carpet, seats, door panels, dash, and head liner. There is no hint of smoke odor now, My older sister rode with me on a 2hr trip, did not affect her at all, and she is extremely allergic to cigarette smoke. There is NO short cuts for removing cigarette odor from interior.
