I saw this on TV on Beyond Tommorow. Right away I thought this would be great for those who need a non existent part made for a tractor.

I havent played with the free cad software yet but I will. I assume its not cheap. But if you cant find a part any other way.

guy over here is making little aluminum blocks that let you use a spinon oil filter instead of the washmeout original on old tractors. 300 bucks for mine and I've seen quotes up to 500.....

I bought one for my 300U from a CaseIH dealer, cost about $60, tho that was 10 years ago.

I think the MM guys with some of the earlier letter tractors have had the cannister filters discontinued have turned to adapters for common spin on filters. I think the most I've heard is $60 for them.
When it comes to getting a custom made part that you can't get over the counter, how much is it worth?
 
You can still buy a spin-on filter adapter from IH. There are 2 different ones offered yet. We stock both at C&G.

In 2010 we will have a spin-on oil filter setup for the IH 361-407 diesel engines. Watch the Red Power magazine site to learn more....

I've got a German made (I guess) DD-111 diesel. Think you could cross reference something for that?

The BALDWIN and NAPA Master filter catalogs have
a section in the back, of adapters such as
discussed here, don't get ripped off, by some
high priced machine shop. your needed adapter
to spin-on element may already be available from
a legitamate source.
