Celebrating a birthday on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?

Nancy's mother will celebrate her 88th birthday on Christmas day.

My first cousin will celebrate her 60th birthday on Christmas day.

My Grandmother passed away on Christmas Eve,does that count? I've got a nephew that was born Christmas day. He's a son of something alright, but a far cry from the son of God.

I once had an aunt who was born on February 29.

Seemed odd when I was 10 or so hearing my mom tell us about her older sidter having her 12th birthday.

No, Nancy, I'm sorry. I don't have any friends or relatives.

Couldn't resist! ;8^)

My grandfather was a Christmas baby. He only made it to 89 y.o.a. He'd have been 105 this year.

In my family, I make the deserts for our Christmas dinner. I decorate the cake with "Happy Birthday, Jesus and Happy Birthday Mom".

Now that James' cousin has begun joining us for holiday dinners, I'm going to have to write smaller so I can get her name on the cake, too!

I have a friend who not only has a birthday on December 25th, but that was also his first wedding day! And I was one of the groomsmen.

Sadly to say, he's been divorced more years now than the total years he was married [twice].

Not on Christmas, but our oldest daughter was born on New Years eve and 5 years later, our youngest daughter was born.

Tax exemptions!

My wifes cousin had his son on Chrismas day a year ago. He weighed just over 1 pound. Made it along one day at a time and is now doing great. Truely a gift.

I don't have any relatives born on Dec 25th, but my father-in-law and my wife's 2 sisters were all born in Dec. Her sisters just turn 82 and 92. Hal

I have a mother-in-law that will be turning 90 on Christmas Day. She is still going strong living by her self, driving, gardening and lawn mowing. She goes to the nursing home to visit the "old" people but she is older that them.

My mother's B-day was Christmas Eve- we always made it a point to celebrate it separately. My former boss (and a friend now) was born on Christmas- he said ever since he was a kid, they always celebrated birthday at 4 in the afternoon, after doing Christmas earlier in the day. He'll be 80 this Christmas.

12-25-64 here! My folks made it fair-everyone got their birthday present at Christmas! Then on your birthday, you got to choose the menu! I never thought it was strange. I did find it strange that a gal I knew in junior high was born 12-25-64 as well. THAT just seemed too wierd to me as a kid. Greg

Dec. 24th will mark my 49th year.As the youngest of five kids,I was often told how I spoiled christmas for my sister and three brothers. Seems that dad didn"t do as good a job with the turkey and pie as mama. Dad's birthday was Jan 1 sister is Oct 31 ,and one brother was born on mothers day 1950.

My graduating class had about 80 students.

Four of us boys had the same birthday; one girl had a birthday the day before ours.

Well James I will have to ad to your thread..My wife and I will be married 59 years on Christmas Day. Were going for more even though she is in a nursing home. She tells every one we are really married, just not living together.

Happy anniversary to you and your wife.

I remember from another post/thread that is your favorite Christmas present.

My moms dad AND my dads mom were both Christmas Eve deliveries. They have both been gone a long time now. I hadn't thought about that for years. Thanks for jarring my memory.

Have a niece who was born on Christmas day.She is Jewish so it works well for celebrating her birthday and the holiday.

James, I grew up with and am still friends of girl/now woman that was born on Dec. 25. To avoid embarrassment to both her and me I won't mention the year but her parents named her Merry Carol. Needless to say she has had to spell her first name for everyone and do some explaining over the years! Always enjoy reading your and Nancy's posts. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I was born on Christmas morning, 1951. I'm told that it was storming and the roads were bad. They had a hard time calling the hospital because everyone was listening in on the party line. Dad said to hang up so he could make his call and then he would call back and tell everyone what was going on. Said the noise of phones clanging down all at once was quit loud. Dad got Mom to the hospital and then had to go to Drs. house and bring him to the hospital. (Dad had chains on the car). Older brother was born Jan. 25,1949. When they woke him up to tell him he had a new brother, all he asked was did he get his John Deere tractor. Mom was a teacher and loved the Winnie the Pooh books, so I ended up Christopher Robin. Usually had a b-day party for me on Christmas Eve. One of the families in our church also had a daughter born on Christmas, named her Merry Christine. We still go to the front of the church together for our birthdays while everyone sings to us. Chris

Mine is Dec 23. Daughter's Dec 24. Jesus is Dec 25. Granddaughter's is Dec. 26. We just celebrate the entire last two weeks of Dec and first few days of Jan. so everything is included.

Chris - learn something everyday, at least I hope to!
As John T says Jesus is the reason for the season. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Birthday!
Oh yeah, let's all hope 2010 is better than 2009.
Jim

Our latest granddaughter was born last year on Christmas EVE. 1YR old on the 24th!
Don't suppose she will notice the big party do you?

My brother Larry on Christmas Eve. I feel sorry for the poor guy. Growing up, he always got ripped for presents because the next day was...presents. Oh, he got presents, just not the real good stuff. One time I wrapped up a roll of paper towels and gave it to him. Told him I'd make up for it the next day but didn't, because he got a present from me the day before. Thats pretty much how it went from the rest of the family too. On the bright side, he'll never run out of paper towels.

Brother-in-law born on Dec 24. We tried to double up on presents for him, or larger present... As adults, we"re pretty well down to cards, possibly a draw names exchange at Christmas. Wife was born on Dec 1st. She really expects a gift at both occasions. Problem is that this loads all my shoping to one end of the year Often difficult to do her nicely at both occasions, being so close.
