Engine heater for JD4430

I have a JD4430 tractor that is slow starting in cold weather. I live in south Texas so our winters are only moderately cold. I would like to use some type of engine heater, so I could get the tractor started easier for hay feeding on cold days. I need some advice on what type of heater to get ----Dipstick, block, radiator hose, etc.

A block heater is the simplest to install and more than adequate for your needs.

About $80.00 at DEERE, less through a Phillips & Temro distributor.

I've got one of the old things and have always thought it was cold-natured; have had a heater in the water jacket (freeze plug) ever since I've had it and it works great.

Good to hear about somebody who cares about starting the tractor properly. Instead of grinding the starter and battery to death. Or beating the engine with ether.
A hydraulic destroker does wonders too. Leave the wiggling the steering wheel to those who don't understand.Best $15.00 you will spend.
