Last summer late, I bought an Oliver 73 pull type picker with a sheller unit on it and took it to our clubs show and shelled some corn with it. Saturday our club had a consignment auction with a 73 picker with a husker on it. All of a sudden, I now have 2 Oliver pickers, one with a sheller and one with a husking unit. I'm gonna have to pull some good machinery out of the shed to make room for the old picker. I have been diagnosed with rustosis, no cure, only relief is to buy me some more rusty iron. Chris

Back in the day those old Oliver pickers were considered some of the better ones. Have fun with it. I have an old Woods Brothers gathering dust in my barn too.

Death being the only cure for it once you have it,enjoy it all you can. There is always room for 1 more someway somehow.

Chris, if you would shoot that barrel of oil, you might free up a bit of room! Nice picker, hope it works as good as the sheller.
On second thought, go to a "corn on corn" rotation, sell the combine (no more beans ) and then you would have the room, maybe room for a third unit.
Always trying to be helpfull.

Chris: Good looking picker. You and I should start the Oliver picker & sheller club although one of my pickers needs to have the husking unit removed and the sheller unit installed. I hate to say this but the next step is to find a M&M 1210A sheller that was painted green at the factory and had Oliver decals. I think there was maybe 180 or 200 of these shellers built according to the Oliver magazine. Armand

Thinking of getting rid of my New Idea 323 and trying a one row oliver. Maybe you can tell me if I would be doing the right thing or will I be disappointed?

30" or 40" row pickers? We had a 73 wide (40") row picker for several years. Pulled with a J D A

Good job Chris,
Just think when the grandkids get old enough, you can give them the Oliver pickers and get your pedal tractors back!

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the New Idea picker.Don't think you could go wrong with a Oliver tho. Chris

I have it too. My wife has told me I have to get rid of some of it. So now I tell her I go to auctions and look for people I can sell stuff to. I did get rid of some of it, just hope she don't look behind the barn and figure out I just got it out of sight.
