Long tractor .......

Anybody got an idea what to offer a relative for a 350 or 360 Long tractor? Had an uncle that passed away earlier this year that it belonged to and my aunt mentioned this afternoon if I was interested in it. I haven't seen it in years and don't know the current condition of it, my aunt doesn't know if it still runs or not, I'm pretty sure it does though, its probably been sitting idle in the barn for about three years due to uncles cancer. Whats a fair offer to make her on the tractor, can't remember if its the 350 or 360 model. Heck I don't even need it but if it is worth anything at all I would hate for someone to con her out of it. Uncle had a nice MF 135 too but other relatives have already spoken for it, guess nobody wanted the old blue goose. Last time I seen the old Long my uncle was plowing the fields about 10 years ago and I remember seeing a lot of exhaust smoke while he was plowing, I also remember him always bragging on what an old workhorse it was. Will be several days before I can go up and look it over. Any ideas on what to offer would be appreciated. Also what about parts availability on the Long tractors now, I had a 445 about 12-15 years ago myself and had engine problems with it, sunk a lot of money in that tractor and had problems getting parts for it back then. Thanks for all replies.

I have an older used tractor price guide that lists the 350 and 360 Long tractor. 350 from 1974 to 1976,Fair cond.$1400 Good $1700 Premium $2000. 360 from 1977 to 1989 Depending on year from Fair $1900 - $3800 Good $2100 - $4100 Premium $2400 - $4500 Hope this helps, lower price is starting year, higher price is last year of production.Condition is everything as you probably already know.

i got no idea of current pricing but friends of mine that own or have owned Longs/Farm-Tracs got most everything they needed at local Ford Dealer when it was still owned by NH...i got no idea what what the new company keeps in stock.
FWIW the Longs i been around have been bulletproof as far as baling and ranch chores goes.

I have a 1983 360 Long and a 2006 Farmtrac 555. The 360 has been the toughest tractor for the money that I have ever owned. General maint with a couple of clutch replacements. The Farmtrac has been another story. The indians made all of the seals overseas using a defective rubber causing a plague of oil leaks. Replaced the ehgine main seal, oil pan gasket, and power steering gaskets on column while under warranty. Rubber boots over brake shafts went this summer during hay season. Tractor down 2 weeks waiting for parts and of course warranty long gone. Farmtrac is old style ford castings with Indian engine.

Long/Farmtrac has gone defunk and no longer exists. There are some aftermarket parts available for old and newer models out there but pricy. Older models made by LONG were much better tractors than Farmtrac.

I just found a piece of Long 360 literature. It is built under Fiat licience. A 12 55 Oliver and one model of A-C are almost the same tractor. The A -C being closer to the long. The Oliver is a "real" Fiat. Like was mentioned a tough tractor!
