NAA lift piston

I bought an NAA lift piston (the one with O-ring). Where does the leather backup ring go? Please let me know if you can. Thanks Dave

Dave:

The back-up washer goes in the O-ring groove next to the O-ring opposite to the oil side, i.e., the side nearest the open end of the cylinder. The washer will have a smooth side and a rough, or less smooth, side. The rough side faces the O-ring.

Soak the leather washer in warm oil or hot water for a few minutes before installing it on the piston to prevent it from breaking when you stretch it.
