Gotta Re-Think This Winter Thing

By the time I got out to the farm, temp was up to zero.

Darned old M didn't even spin twice and was off and running. Hardest part was draggin' that bale lift from the dead tractor over to the M.

Also, when I had to lift two bales (bottom of the stack) the ol' sis is a little light in the front end and she'd come up about 3' off the ground.

I'm thinkin' maybe get that F-11 loader off the H and over on the M so's I can haul two at a time too.

Coldern' Billy He!! without the cab though.......

Hey Allan, Complaints concerning a guys chosen profession or hobby etc always remind me of the line in "The Godfather Part II" when Hyman Roth (spelling? the old dude in vegas) yells to Michael Corleone when he questions some misfortune........

"This is the life we have chosen"

Hey I been there done that and its still in our blood and nature to talk about the winter and our chores but in a small way I sort of miss it since I sold my cows 2 years ago

MUSICAL QUESTION

It seems so strange buttttttttt I usually pick at my Banjo each day practicing to improve and smooth my 3 finger roll HOWEVER if Im busy and dont pick it up in say 3 days IT SEEMS IM BETTER AT IT then when Im picking it daily?????????? Maybe I need to stop daily practice and only do it every 3 days lol

Glad the red sled fired up & your critters got fed. Yup, up your way you definitely need a cab tractor in the winter.

John,

That's your muscle memory working.

I try to pick some every day to keep in shape. Seems like my ol' pee brain absorbs more early in the morning.

John, I also play banjo and have experienced the same thing, and am experiencing it now with the fiddle I am slowly learning to play. For me it works best to practice every day even for ten minutes, rather than practicing for longer less often. I just built a 5 string open back banjo from cherry and if you would be interested in seeing photos and hearing what it sounds like you can go to banjohangout dot org and search for my name and it'll bring it up. Music is what keeps me from going any further off my rocker than I already have done.
