Happened to a fellow I knew about 50 years ago, cept'n it was a railroad track; he was about 16 years old and the boys with him swore that the only water available to them to get him unstuck was warm and yellow, so that's what they used........

I wish The Christmas Story was around when I was 9. Walking home from school one day, I put my lips on a bridge railing. Takes quite a while for lip skin to grow back.

My brother who is 9 yrs older licked the pump handle. It was right out in front of the kitchen window so my ma ran out with some warn water and freed him up. (he also like to eat clods of dirt)

glennster,
Guess I didn't scroll down enough - thought that was up your way. Never did that but did have hands froze though gloves before.
Invited the Howells to your Bed and Breakfast at the shop - just to let'm get a feel for Illinois weather and the horses. What do you think.

When I was a kid, the neighbors called up my folks and said that their daughter's tongue was stuck to the pump and they wanted to know what they should do. I bet that wasn't any fun.

I've had my tongue stuck on a popsicle but not for long. The boy is lucky there weren't some bully types around that would have tried to yank him off or something. Dave

And they sent him on his way to school! I wonder if he had school work on his mind after that episode!

My wife said her brother stuck his tongue to the railing outside of church back when they were kids. She said he lost a little skin but she didn't say how they got him unstuck. Ouch! Jim

When I was a kid, one of my buddies opened the freezer out in his garage on a hot summer day and stuck his tongue on one of the grates. Same outcome, and his Mom was mad at all of us for letting him do that. As far as I know or can remember, his tongue mostly grew back.

And speaking of nevers...never relieve yourself on an electric fence in the fog. That stuff about the fog disappating some of the charge and grounding it out before it gets to you is boloney. My buddy's Mom was real upset at us for letting him do that too. Come to think of it, his name was Mikey, and we could always get Mikey to do stuff long before there was that commercial that used to say, "Hey, lets get Mikey to...". I wonder if he's still alive?

When i was in SAC stationed at K.I. Sawyer AFB at Marquette Mich. in the early 60's they gave us some cold weather training and told us if we got stuck on metal on the flight line, with any body part to use any means available to unstick it, even the warm & yellow water, we always said that's what your buddys are for.
