I'm Done...

Finally. Delievered the last load of beans yesterday. Touch over 38 bu/ac for double crop, not bad at all. Rain kept everything damp so that could only get an hour or two every week and a JD 4400 juast doesn't cur that big a swath. Had to pull the truck out of the fram yard but it's done.

We are nearing done Dave. We have about 30 acres of beans to go and about 25 acres of corn left and we are trying to help the neighbor get his 60 acres of corn finished. So we are nearing the end we just cant seem to get any dry weather to get finished. Maybe we will get done in 2009.

Congrats on getting done. Here in the frozen north, we finished three weeks ago on beans and a week an a half ago on beans. It sure is a nice feeling to watch the very last swath go into the machine. How wide a swath are you cutting with that 4400?

Great, We finished Tuesday. Our 4400 performed flawlessly except for loosing a fan belt. Every year we say just one more season and we will replace it and every year we patch it up and go again.

It's a 213 flex head. I run her in 3rd and variable speed as fast as she'll take the beans. Only plugged her up once, but it a job to spin the cylinder backward. I'll tell you I slowed down some.
She could probably handle a 215 in beans but much slower and the 215 wouldn't work in wheat so I'm sticking with the 213.

Yeah, this is helping a lot. We got about 3 inches today but it is melting off fast. Man it was a wet heavy snow here. How much did you guys get???
