Differential Transmission oil

Some one said if you change the oil in these old tractors trains & differential the oil seal will leak, well I did on may farmall h, and it cost me $500 to get seal put in the transmission.

Ok, first of all, a seal WILL leak sooner or later NO matter what kind of oil is in it, the age of the machine, or the age of the oil itself.

Second, there is MORE than just one seal in a Farmall "H" transmission.

Third, paying $500 to replace a seal in a tractor that did not cost much more than that new, is COMPLETELY devoid of common sense.

But not everyone is mechanically adept.
